How to Use: A Step-by-Step Guide for Optimal Results
1.Safety First! Always wear safety glasses and gloves.
2.Mark & Secure: Clearly mark the center of your hole. Secure the workpiece firmly in a vice or with clamps.
3.Pilot Hole (Recommended for Metals): For a easier start and longer bit life, begin with a small pilot hole (3-4mm) using a standard twist drill bit.
4.Start Drilling: Place the tip of the step drill bit into the pilot hole or on your marked spot. Hold the drill perpendicular to the surface.
5.Apply Steady Pressure: Start at a low to medium speed. Apply firm, steady pressure. Let the bit do the work – do not force it.
6.Progress & Clear Chips: Drill until the first step reaches the desired diameter. To enlarge the hole, continue to the next step. You may pull out the bit occasionally to clear chips, especially in deep holes.
